Dental

Dental Health

Dental health is the gateway to our general health, as the nutrients absorption starts here. Our mouth like our gut harbors hundreds species of bacteria which under normal and healthy conditions are being kept under control and do not cause any problems. Without proper mouth hygiene and ignoring our dental issues these bacteria will grow out of control leading to tooth decay, gum disease and infections that can easily spread throughout body. A vicious cycle can start when other immune system suppressing disorders such as diabetes will increase severity of oral infections due to less active immune system which in turn will suppress the immune system further etc. A great deal of disorders may be linked to infections in the mouth (a root canal tooth may also hide deep infections!) such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Dry Mouth Syndrome, Alzheimer, Stroke, Osteoporosis to name a few. Many diseases symptoms may also be detected in the mouth like indigestion, diabetes lesions etc.

Ozone

Ozone Therapy

Ozone is an oxygen molecule (O2) that has been attached to an extra oxygen atom making it a 3-atom molecule (O3). This extra oxygen bind can happen by natural causes in nature (such as lightning in sky during a storm or on the beaches by water rolling over the rocks) or by manmade forces (such as pushing air over an electrical spark). The 3-atom bind is very unstable and the extra oxygen atom will free itself at the first opportunity it gets, giving all the healing properties of ozone. This extremely reactive singlet oxygen is a strong oxidant (free radical) and will attach to pathogenic elements rendering them inactive. This free radical would also attack body cells to oxidize and damage them yet our healthy cells have plenty free radical scavengers in addition to antioxidant nutrients we consume(such as Vitamin C and E, Selenium, Zink, Gluthatione etc.) to protect themselves vs. unhealthy and pathogenic cells that lack them and will be damaged by singlet oxygen.

Body Fat/Water Composition Analyzer

Body Impedance Analyzer (BIA)

BIA is used to estimate body composition such as fat, water and muscle. A tiny electrical current is sent to the body via several electrodes and the body “opposition” to the flow of this current is measured (called Impedance) as the current travels more easily through body compartments with more water (such as blood, urine and muscle mass) than the ones with less water (such as fat, bones and air). When current goes through water containing compartments it faces only an electrical Resistance R but when trying to go through less watery compartments it has to go through cell membranes which (due to their chemical structure) act like a capacitor with a unique resistance called Reactance (in fact it is a time delay caused by current trying hard to go through the medium). We call the sum of simple Resistance (example water) and Reactance (example cell membrane) Impedance. If our electrical current is an A/C (alternating current), its particular frequency acts differently when passing through water and non-water body compartments: it travels easier through cell membrane than watery parts (causing a “phase” shift) which is also used to determine body (total)cell mass to fat free mass: this “phase angle” is proportional to to the ratio of Reactance and Resistance. Monitoring body compartments contents over time (such as phase angle, impedance etc) gives us valuable information about general health state or recovery progress.

Pulse Oximeter

Blood Oximetry is an easy non-invasive way to monitor Oxygen Saturation in blood (blood bound to hemoglobin, percentage of red blood cells carrying oxygen).
SPO2 = Saturation of Peripheral Oxygen : displayed on Oximeter
SaO2 = Saturation of Arterial Oxygen gas in blood : measured via pulling blood and analyzing it.
SO2 = Saturation of Oxygen (% of hemoglobin sites bound to oxygen).
SPO2 is not necessarily same as SaO2 but they generally correlate so well (exceptions: CO-poisoning where CO attaches to hemoglobin rather than oxygen, people with lung disorders, anemia, vasoconstriction, cold extremities, heavy nail polish on fingers where oximeter sensor is placed, cigarette smoking etc.) that it can be clinically used to monitor body oxygen levels.
Red blood cells contain a protein called Hemoglobin. When a hemoglobin carries its maximum 4 oxygen molecules, it is “saturated”. Nearly all blood oxygen is hemo-bound when passing through the lungs. A healthy person (under normal conditions) has a SPO2 of 95-100%.
Oximeter is a small sensor worn on a finger (or sometimes on foot or earlobe), it sends 2 light beams (infrared and red) via 2 different LEDs through the (thin part of the) body. Blood saturated with oxygen aborbs less red than unsaturated blood. The amount of unabsorbed lights is measured & by way of calculation of ratio of oxygenated to deoxygenated hemoglobin using mathematical tables/laws, the SPO2 is displayed. To insure a good reading is better not to wear nail polish, be relaxed with warm hands below heart level.

Exercise importance and devices

Exercise and Health

Everything in our “known” universe is moving, from the tiniest particles of atoms to the whole universe at large. No movement equals decay and “perdition”. Our lymphatic system is totally dependent on “moving”, regular exercise will move body waste products out of the way. Exercise improves the blood sugar metabolism including insulin sensitivity (diabetics should follow an exercise plan under supervision of a specialist due to high/low blood sugar levels effect on all blood vessels). Blood sugar (glucose) is taken up by our cells by way of Insulin signaling “pathway” or “contraction mediated pathway, i.e. movement”, more movement, more glucose uptake by our cells. Sedentary lifestyle and disruption of sugar metabolism (consuming processed foods and simple carbs.) will cause fat accumulation in our waist area which is correlated with many disorders such as heart disease etc. Generally speaking, a combination of moderate aerobic and anaerobic exercise is the best method to keep us in form.

Thermography or Mammography?

This is one of the first questions ladies ask when they hear about Breast Thermography, and there is a simple answer to it: they are two completely different procedures with two different targets. Can one replace the other?  No, each serves a different purpose.

Mammography looks for EXISTING masses or tumors by compressing breast tissue and sending X-rays through it. The tumor has to be large enough (generally several years in development) and the breast tissue shouldn’t be dense (as it is the case in younger ladies).

Thermography looks for the process of a tumor build up. From very early days of abnormal cell multiplication, new blood vessels will be made to nourish them and so the temperatures in that area rises. Thermography camera registers this temperature rise thereby giving a very early warning signal that the area must be monitored and necessary steps(such as dietary changes etc.) taken. The breast surface temperature reading is done with an infrared camera from several feet away without touching the breast and without sending any radiations to it. The target in Thermography procedure is not to detect a large tumor but to detect small abnormalities in the breast tissue so that the person will take preventive measures to not allow a large tumor build up. Does thermography also see large abnormalities in breast (such as a large tumor)? Absolutely yes. When the camera can see the temperature rise due to a few hundred new cells, it clearly shows the existence of millions of new (tumor) cells. Thermography can be used for any gender and age group.

Neither Mammography nor Thermography can tell if the cell increase(tumor) is cancerous! Only a biopsy (removing some of breast tissue and analyzing it) can determine this. The objective in Thermography is not let a tumor development go unnoticed for many years till it is detectable, then going through the biopsy process or in an unlucky case deal with the already spread of a cancerous tumor to other parts of the body, rather giving an early warning to take action and prevent all that complications.

Biomechanic

                                                        The Missing Link

Quite a few years ago I came across a training program called “Light Touch Therapy” which dealt with aligning and balancing the posture by way of lightly rub (or just energetically activating) certain meridian reflex points on the buttocks, spinal column, shoulder, neck and abdomen. Prior to the therapy, client’s postural distortions would be evaluated via a plumb line and visual observation. These distortions would be the amount of deviation from plumb line (in inches), presence of flexion, pelvis rotation and shift. A simple calculation and empirical therapy steps (based on Dr. John Hurley DC of 1920’s, followed up with Dr. Rosquist and using the laws of mechanic) would then be used to start the adjustment. I found this method so intriguing that I kept studying the mechanics of body posture and its astounding effects on total health and wellbeing. I went through more training and received certification in biomechanic.

The results of postural correction on the entire body system was nothing but miraculous, at times its similarity with homeopathy was astonishing, when following the therapy many old, chronic ailments would start to show up, making the body take them on and finally deal with them. Herxheimer reactions (healing crisis) were not uncommon. I saw very skinny young boys and girls with “beer belly” even on the best nutritional regimen whose bulge disappeared after a posture correction.

Our body structure is held in place with the help of bones, muscles (ligaments, tendons, joints) and fascia. Any distortion or disorder in any of these organs will affect almost every part of our body. These organs but are under constant attack from birth throughout the life. External forces such as extreme pressures, hits, falls and other traumas and accidents all contribute to postural misalignment. A stationary, sedentary lifestyle (such as prolonged sitting by the TV/computer, Cellphone or in the car behind the wheel) helps posture distortion. In addition, our vertebral discs get their nutrition/oxygen via diffusion/convection from vertebral endplates as the disks have no blood supply of their own, and the diffusion takes place only under load/movement. No exercise or movement translates in no nutrition/oxygen to our vertebral discs resulting in inevitable disc degeneration. Another factor in posture misalignment is lack of nutrients. Our cells need proper nutrients in proper amounts as well as enough oxygen to function correctly. Today our food generally lacks good nutrients and our air has less oxygen as it used to. Our posture is also directly and bidirectionally related to our mood/emotions. Our autonomic nervous system correlates well with our psychological state: sad and depressed people are usually slouching while happy energetic ones are in extended position!

One of Skenar Therapy protocols (a type of biofeedback device in which I had extensive training) called “Little Wing” aimed at balancing the sphenoid bone in the skull. This bone is of outmost importance as it connects to almost every other bone in the skull. Any misalignment of this bone will affect our entire system including hormonal and nerves. It was amazing how addressing this bone relieved chronic head- aches, improved sinus troubles, vision, mood and the list goes on. The Skenar results was another indication for me that a chiropractic test/adjustment is a necessity for a comprehensive health plan. There is also a new simple procedure from a Chiropractor to address the imbalances of the skull bones. Called “Cranial Facial Release” .It involves inserting a small balloon in the nasopharynges and inflating

It for a second. This procedure is way faster and more effective than Skenar therapy protocol. People have reported to me numerous magical results in their general health.

So I found my missing link in the realm of natural health. I firmly believe that no natural health program is complete without a body posture evaluation. Every person starting from very young age should be checked by a competent chiropractor, utilizing imaging techniques and manual posture alignment. Many postural disturbances DO NOT SHOW SYMPTOMS for many years, and by the time symptoms appear we might be already in deep trouble.

Chi Exerciser

By enabling the body to move gently from side to side in a figure of eight, the oxygen absorption might be maximized. As a passive aerobic exercise, the Chi Machine maximizes supplemental oxygenation of the entire body via physical stimulation.
It creates a balanced, rhythmic, relaxing wave-like motion throughout the body, enhancing the metabolic rate, aiding detoxification via the lymphatic system and aligning the spine. These also contribute to sharper mental activity, focus and alertness.

Due to its low impact operation, the Chi Machine is also extremely valuable for the frail, physically challenged, seniors or bedridden, as they will benefit tremendously from the general body oxygenation and the movement of lymphatic fluid.

Bio Terrain Assessment (BTA)

The BTA tests are intended for nutritional assessment purposes only and are mostly of “Do It Yourself” types. No medical claims are made based on these tests results.

Free Radicals-Oxidative Stress

This is used to assess electron potential and cell damage. Free radicals are highly reactive molecules with uncoupled electrons and are by-products of normal metabolic reactions.

As cells begin to steal electrons from each other, cell destruction results. High oxidation rate leads to fatigue and stressed body systems.

Electrolyte Dynamics: Flow of  Energy

Electrolyte solutions can enhance our cell function if they are balanced. Any imbalance here will upset the normal electrical flow through cells.

Nitrates Assessment for Immune Weakness/Stress

Nitrates are end product of nitric oxide (NO). NO is made by the body for a short time to mediate chemical situations. It is stimulated by low oxygen or high carbon monoxide and converts to a free radical. Nitrate test can assess an array of systems stress and oxidation.

Lemon Juice Test for Mineral Reserve and pH Assessment

Minerals are needed in the body for enzyme activity. By subjecting a person to lemon juice, the mineral buffer system reactions can be observed along a time line, and the available mineral reserves, degree of stress and mineral depletion risk factors monitored.

Ammonia Discharge: Assessment of Stress and Acidity

During protein metabolism nitrogen wastes are produced. The first nitrogen containing molecules formed is ammonia (NH3), which must be excreted by the body before it raises body fluid pH. Too much or too little ammonia causes imbalance in the system (like out of balance acid/alkaline ratio). Ammonia is also an adaptation response to mental, emotional, stress and other acid forming causes and its monitoring provide clues to body stress condition.

(Cl-) Displacement and System Stress

This test helps determine the degree of energy output of the body, the burden on the fluid balancing systems, the probable buffering- and mineral deficiency and the level of body stress. When stress activity and acidity is high or low, certain minerals (Na, K, Mg) that are bound to chloride are displaced. High acidity is the result of hyper-stimulated  sympathetic system, which stimulates certain body control systems.

Pulse Pressure Test for Stress Evaluation

The fact that a non-stressed body responds by blood pressure rising when standing up from a lying position can be used to evaluate system stress.

Pupil Size Observation

Stress can be assessed by looking at the pupil size in response to application and removal of a light source (such as a flash light).

Basal (at rest) Temperature Test

Basal temperature test is a simple method to monitor how the body uses some of the hormones that control that control the efficiency of its heat production.

Iodine Absorption Test

Is used to assess the absorption of the element iodine, which is very important for the body normal hormonal functions.

Digestion Assessment:  Malabsorption/HCl Evaluation

A proper protein absorption through the digestion system is of great importance

Hydrochloric acid (HCl) plays a big role in providing appropriate medium for the enzymes to break down the food and any imbalance in this system leads to undigested food, resulting in an overgrowth of pathogens and a host of other problems.

Enzyme Assessment

Digestive enzymes are the most important step in food digestion. Any imbalance here leads to undigested food, a whole range of problems and the suffering of intestinal flora.

Total Sugar Test

This is not a test for diabetes or glucose measurement. It is a “total sugars” assessment for evaluation of the body sugar metabolism meaning “high’ or “low” sugars.

Sugar metabolism has a tremendous importance in our ability to access the appropriate energy production pathways. Without its proper control and balance energy production will fluctuate. Some of the factors contributing to sugar imbalance are improper diet, stress, hormonal factors and lack of physical exercise. There are 2 major genotypes regarding sugar metabolism. The “glucogenic” type people who are deficient in oxidative energy metabolism from fats. Their system prefers to burn energy through citric acid cycle, i.e.  burning sugars as fuel. The “ketogenic” type people who are deficient in oxidative energy metabolism produced from amino acids. Their system prefers to burn fats via beta hydroxybutyric acid cycle. Both imbalance types are continuously struggling with sugar control. The “sugar meter” reads both high sugars (ketogenic) and low sugars (glucogenic).

Certain foods are good for one type and bad for another, especially due to different tendencies regarding acidity/alkalinity of the two genotypes.

Breath Test

This test determines the time a person is able to hold breath, which may point to the sugar metabolism genotypes. The Glucogenics have shorter breath-hold ability due to burning sugar and increased production of CO2 which leads to more oxygen requirement.

Lipid Panel Test

As high lipids oxidation, ammonia and electrolytes lead to numerous imbalances, it is good to know the lipid levels. This test evaluates the lipid levels in conjunction with other oxidative measures and is used solely for evaluation of oxidative stress on the body.

Mineral Calcium Assessment

Calcium is involved in vital functions of the body, such as in bones, muscle contraction, nerve impulses and the regulation of numerous other body reactions. As such it is very important to evaluate the body’s calcium reserves

Vitamin C Assessment

Vitamin C is involved in literally hundreds of biological activities in the body. Some conditions associated with vitamin C imbalance are low immune functions, fragile  capillaries, allergies, scurvy, etc.

This is a quick test to assess the body’s vitamin C status.

Hydration Index

When the body is dehydrated, it takes the water out of cells to dilute the acidity. As water is a good signal conductor, without it the cell communication will be affected dramatically

Zinc Test

Zinc is associated with tremendous amount of important body functions. It is mostly lacking in today’s modern diet. Zinc is important for enzyme production and is an essential cofactor of immune and reproductive systems. This is a simple yet reliable test that shows instantly the body’s zinc status.

Chemstrip Tests

These tests are basically a series of Do It Yourself  assessment for evaluation of several body systems stress level.

Osteomark NTx

This is a lab test for a non-medical evaluation of bones condition. It provides a quantitative measure of the excretion of cross-linked N-telopeptides of type I collagen.

NTx is ideal for identifying the probability for a decrease in bone mineral density after one year in postmenopausal women receiving calcium supplements.

Iridology

Iris may reveal body constitution, inherent weaknesses, the degree of well-being and its development according to the way a person lives.

As an analytical tool along with other assessment modalities, iridology may provide an insight into one’s state of well-being. The iris is connected to every organ and tissue of the body by way of brain and nervous system. Both sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system are present in the iris.

Iridology is used to observe normal and abnormal reflex signs. It helps assess the inherited weaknesses and strengths and the results of inappropriate living practices. A perfect eye shows no holes, inherent weakness signs, distortion of fibers, deposits and will display a perfect color. Any deviation from these findings is considered a sign of lowered function or disharmony.

Iridology may reveal under-activity of body systems, or how one responds to certain treatments over a period of time.

By using a flashlight and a magnifying glass or camera, iris is being observed for marks and signs of imbalance, as many nerve endings in the eye are linked to various body systems.

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA)

Hair contains all the minerals present in the body, including nutritional as well as toxic heavy metals. Human hair has been accepted as an effective tissue for biological monitoring of toxic heavy metals by the US EPA. Hair accumulates all important trace elements, is a commonly available tissue, is wide spread geographically, is easily collected, stored and transported. Hair specimen can be re-sampled and is present in polluted and non-polluted areas. The content of hair correlates also with environmental gradient of metals. For many years hair has been used as an indicator for nutritional status and supplementation in animals. Several minerals such as calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium help regulate our energy production. Only if these minerals are at normal levels, then the body will be working at peak efficiency. Another important aspect is the ratio between these minerals. For example, the ratios of Ca/K and Na/Mg determine how fuel (such as sugars) is provided and burned to supply energy.

HTMA as a lab test measures the mineral contents of hair and provides a picture of the body’s internal environment. It is important to know that what serves as good nutrition for one person may not be good for another. HTMA will greatly help to assess correctly the true nutritional needs of a person, which supplements to take and which to avoid.

Jade Far-infrared (FIR) Thermal Bed

The FIR bed targets body’s vital pressure points along the spine with a precise relaxing massage that provides the benefits of a massage, acupressure and FIR heat. The FIR heat being absorbed into the jade (a shiny green precious stone that is a natural transmitter of FIR rays in the same wave length as the human body) rollers, deliver a penetrating contact-heat to the parts of the body being massaged. FIR heat travels directly into the muscles without heating the air between the body and the source. The jades also produce negative ions which encourage the cell metabolism, increasing thereby vitality and immune function. FIR bed alleviates the stress and pain that accumulate in the body from everyday living by improving the blood circulation, loosening stiff muscles and easing joint pain.

According to Traditional Eastern Medicine, particular points on the body are connected and correspond to various body systems. The majority of these “pressure points” are located near the spine. The combination of comprehensive deep tissue jade roller manipulation and deep tissue body penetration of FIR light and heat work to realign the body to a more healthy and balanced posture. The energy flow is enhanced, pressure on nerves is relieved , blood flow optimized and regenerative ability of body’s own natural healing encouraged.

Live and Dry Blood Assessment

Dry Blood Analysis (DBA) is not a diagnostic or treatment method, rather a screening tool to help assess nutritional needs. During 1920’s the German scientist Dr. Enderlein noticed a correlation between abnormalities in the body and the patterns in the dried blood.

In 1930’s Dr. Bowlen introduced DBA in US. By observing the dried blood of healthy people and people with imbalances and abnormalities, certain blood patterns could be associated with nutritional deficiencies or excesses. Through observation of the blood cell structure, the plasma fluid and other parts of the blood, one’s nutritional status could be assessed. A sound balanced blood should show no yeast, fungus, parasites, molds, damaged cells, bacteria, free radical manifestation, impaired oxygen carrying capabilities, overacidity signs etc., rather it should represent a clean picture.

The Live Blood Analysis (LBA) can show what is happening in the blood at any given time. While DBA pictures would suggest how the body is coping with stress and imbalances the LBA shows what the body is struggling against at the present time. Observing LBA and DBA patterns and structures is a quick way of assessing unhealthy conditions and provide the first warning signals for development of body imbalances. They can also be used for monitoring the efficacy of different treatments and nutritional programs a person is having.

Because during a DBA or LBA the person will be able to watch the blood condition on the screen of a monitor, the process could serve as a good educational and motivational tool towards changing bad eating habits.

Resonant Field Imaging™ (RFI)

RFI is an electromagnetic feedback and imaging method or process and is not intended to affect the structure or any biological body function. It is an analysis tool that identifies energy information. RFI is based on the presumption of the existence of the aura, i.e. all mental activity being electromagnetic.

RFI identifies and interprets 15 colors of bioenergy representing all 15 distinguishable colors of the optical spectrum. RFI looks at mental activities as electrical signals that travel through the nervous system and radiate electrical fields characteristic of the mental activity which generated them.

As color is frequency, the aura colors can be detected by identifying the precise frequency of bioenergy field in a specific location of the body. As emotions are energy reactions to a perception, when a person has a psychological perception of him/herself and environment, being a mental process, electrical impulses are induced which affect related systems ( for example a perception of fear stimulates certain organs via the brain). The electrical impulses travel throughout the nervous system thereby creating characteristic electrical fields. Each person sends out waves of different lengths. Personal wavelengths are as individual as fingerprints. Each person and each part or system of the body produces different frequencies.

The human energy field is a collection of electromagnetic energies of varying densities that permeate through and emit or exit from the physical body of a living person. From an energetic point of view the energy imbalances and blockages are usually due to trauma, stress, abuse, deficiencies, external pathogens, autointoxication and immune dysfunction.

Like all other modalities and devices described in these pages, RFI is also in no way a diagnostic tool but merely an analytical one that should accompany other assessment tools and methods. It is only used to interpret body auras and bioenergy fields.

SCENAR

SCENAR stands for Self Controlling Energo Neuro Adaptive Regulator. The technology is based on the concept that human body is a complex bioenergetic self-correcting system with an innate ability to maintain energetic balance between its different systems and parts.

Health problem arise when body functions come out of balance. To correct the imbalances often just a minor pulse will start body’s own healing mechanisms, and Scenar generates such an impulse. Scenar produces dynamically changing signals that when contacting the skin initiate a biofeedback dialogue with the body. Each Scenar signal helps regulate body’s functions and is controlled by the body through the feedback loop. No two consecutive signals from Scenar are the same, adjusting for the state of the body from moment to moment and the person’s condition changing and improving.

Areas of the skin that are reflexively or neurologically connected to stressed or adapted systems will demonstrate changed or abnormal electrical characteristics. Scenar generates a specific stimulating signal that brings the brain’s focus back to the acute problem areas for body’s own rapid healing processes to start.

Scenar was approved by USSR Medical Council since 1986 and is certified by European Common Market for pain control. In US it is registered with FDA as a biofeedback device for muscle re-education and relaxation training.

Far-infrared (FIR) Sauna

Activated by heat, the FIR material of the sauna emits FIR energy, which is absorbed by the body and establishes a resonance, thereby instantly initiating cellular activities resulting in a better blood circulation and overall improved metabolism.

The FIR waves stimulate the release of Nitric Oxide (NO) from cells which relaxes and expands the circulatory system for more efficient circulation and oxygenation of all body’s tissues and cells.

Because FIR sauna’s heat speeds up the metabolic process of vital body systems, a substantial caloric loss may also result. FIR ray energy is a form of sun light energy minus the skin damaging UV. FIR is capable of penetrating, refracting, radiating and reflecting.

The fact that FIR penetrates deep into body’s tissues explains its high rate of absorption.

The thermal effect within the tissues deep layers contribute to dilation of blood vessels and capillaries, resulting in a better blood circulation. The produced heat helps the body rid of toxins and metabolic wastes through sweating.

The FIR waves are not blocked by the air molecules and can penetrate a couple of inches into the body. While the person feels quite warm and perspires, the skin is not hurt by hot air found in conventional heat therapy devices.

Cold Laser

In 1965 Drs. Sinclair, Knoll and Master pioneered the way for therapeutic lasers. These lasers don’t cut or destroy tissue, rather stimulate and thereby provide a healing effect. The energy here is of a non-thermal light photons, which can be absorbed by the body and be converted to chemical energy and so initiate numerous balancing functions.

Unlike other light sources, laser is coherent, meaning the oscillation is in the same direction and phase. This is very beneficial as the body communicates also in the same coherent light language. By stimulating the body with an appropriate laser light of wave-length 630-980 nanometer, the body can be aided for proper oxygenation and detoxification of the cells and tissue regeneration.

Hot lasers used for medical purposes can increase the temperature of the contact surface, While cold laser (a term used for Low Level Laser Therapy or LLLT) will not raise that temperature. Cold lasers are used for tissue stimulation without having sufficient strength to cause cell damage (staring directly into the laser beam should be avoided as it could irritate the retina and damage the eye). Once the cold laser light energy enters the tissue photochemical reactions take place, which will stimulate the natural biological processes that help control the pain and initiate body’s own healing mechanisms (photons that enter the damaged cells, produce energy—ATP—improving their function, assist cell division, strengthening the immune system and the secretion of various hormones.
